Early Years SEND Accredited Training

Do you want to feel more confident supporting children with SEND? Would you like to find out how to better manage children with challenging behaviour? And get a recognised award for the skills you learn?

If the answer is years, Merton Council is offering this course to support you to gain accreditation for the knowledge, skills and understanding you need to support children aged 0 to 5 with SEND. The course is fully-funded and free to those who attend.

This course is for SENCos, Managers and Room Leaders working in Early Years PVI settings. It will also be offered to SENCos in schools, and nursery and reception class teachers.

The course is fully-funded.

The course comprises four modules which will build your confidence in your practice and enhance the learning environment for children with SEND:

1. The role of the SENCo
2. Supporting children with speech, language and communication needs
3. Supporting children with behaviour, emotional and social development needs
4. Supporting children with cognition, social and/or physical development needs


Dates: Fridays 17th Jan, 7 February, 28 February and 20 March 2020
Time: 9.15am to 4.00pm
Location: Mitcham

You will need to be able to commit to attending all four sessions to complete the course.
