Early Years - Maths (EQUIP Model) Online training

Our EQUIPped for Maths online training package aims to transform the way we look for opportunities to explore maths everyday - inside and out!

Funded by the GLA and designed by Rob Nicholson, this collection of presentations, video clips, quizzes and other resources are full of fun, practical ideas for activities and provide opportunities to develop an understanding of:

  • The mathematical learning opportunities available in the natural world and outdoor environment 
  • The concepts involved in shape space and measure 
  • Developing mathematics from young children's schema and interests 
  • Developing characteristics of learning through mathematics
  • STEM-science, technology, engineering and maths for very young children
  • Counting, calculating and mental arithmetic in EYFS
  • The Early Learning Goals for maths  

This course is suitable for all early years practitioners and includes four modules-
Pattern 
Navigation and using maths on a journey 
Mathematical games and 
Sorting and Data Handling 

Delegates who sign up will also be invited to take part in 2 online webinars - and introduction to the resources and then a follow up to share outcomes with the group the following week.

Aimed at: Early Years practitioners, support staff in schools and nursery class teachers.
