Coaching Skills for Leaders

A 4-session course for lead teachers and senior school leaders introducing the essential skills and techniques of coaching

Facilitated by Thinking Classroom consultant and ILM executive coach Mike Fleetham, this 3-day course introduces you to the basic skills, knowledge and dispositions of an educational/leadership coach. Founded on evidence-based research and professional development theory, the sessions will be primarily practical. In a confidential setting you will have the opportunity to observe coaching in action and try out many tools and techniques for yourself. On completion you will know how to provide successful coaching for others and how to develop a coaching ethos.

Outcomes

  • A quality personal and professional development opportunity around coaching practices.
  • Skills and techniques to embed sustainable, high impact coaching in school in order to accelerate improvements in teaching, learning and leadership.

  • The Coaching Session – What Kind of Coachee? – Listening & Power Questions
  • A Coaching Ethos – Group Coaching - Troubleshooting – Where to Begin?
  • A Coaching Organisation – CPD audit – Trio Coaching – Collaborative Practice

No previous coaching and mentoring training or experience necessary. You will get most from this training if you come with an open mind, a willingness to think and learn and a desire to help others thrive and grow in their roles.

1:15pm -4:15pm, WPDC, Burntwood School Site

Cost and Booking

£350 for 4-session course. Attendance at all sessions required for certificate.
