This leadership programme has now been running for the last twelve years and has been successful in supporting 125 senior leaders achieve next steps promotion and headship.
The programme has developed over the years and evaluations have indicated the success of workshops based on current themes including HR issues, finance, difficult conversations, leadership styles, building personal and team capacity.
The morning will be delivered by Andy Hind, Education Consultant
Andy left the teaching profession after 16 years, during which time he held various positions, including class teacher, subject co-ordinator, Senior Leader, Deputy Head and finally Head Teacher. He has worked in an advisory capacity within various LAs and has been trained with OFSTED. He now supports a vast numbers of local authorities, educational networks and schools across England and Wales. Andy is passionate about leadership and learning in education and has a genuine desire to support clients in creating the most effective learning organisations that provide exceptional learning experiences for all its learners.
And the afternoon by Julie Hillman, Experienced Headteacher and Wandsworth Link Inspector
Julie is a highly experience Headteacher, having worked in Merton, Lambeth and Wandsworth for the last 20 years. She has supported a range of schools over the years in building and securing their leadership capacity. She currently works for the Wandsworth School Improvement service, delivering their leadership support. She also supports teachers new to the profession and has an impressive toolkit of skills in promoting, supporting and delivering high quality school improvement. Recently she has worked with Deputy Head teachers and experienced AHTs in presenting a ‘It Could Be You’ workshop, for senior leaders who find themselves needing to step up quickly into the role of acting or interim headship.
In addition to the conference on 15th November there will be a further 3 workshops, mentor support and a Summer conference, which are included in the cost. These sessions form a part of the main programme and participants are expected to attend all elements of the programme. Please ensure your Headteacher is aware of these sessions:
Mentoring Programme – All participants will be allocated a Local or National Leader in Education who will act as a mentor in both small group and 1:1 sessions. The purpose of these regular meetings will be to support individuals in achieving their long term goals. This is part of the programme and free of charge.
